I'm pleased to introduce adorable Baby M! Not only was he 14 days of pure sweetness, but he was so bright-eyed and alert at the beginning of our session. We got some really great images of him awake gazing at his mama and daddy. By the end of our time together we were able to capture some beautiful sleepy images that I just love! Thank you, K and J, for inviting me to document this amazing, fleeting, magical, sleep-deprived, lovely time in your lives. It was such an honor and I truly enjoyed our time together.

It's a joy to photograph a family as they grow! Last year I documented this wonderful couple's pregnancy with a gorgeous maternity session. Then I got to capture the arrival of their sweetie, Miss L, with a very special newborn session. Documenting her first birthday was so fun! Her mama brought so many great outfits and props! This session made me feel so sentimental to return to the same location exactly one year later and witness how much has changed. It really demonstrated that the passage of time in a baby's life is so fleeting, they change so quickly, and how we grow to love them more with every passing day. I was honored to photograph Miss L's first year - and look forward to documenting her family throughout the years to come. After her practice with cake tasting during this photo session, I think she will be ready to dig into her cake at her first birthday party which is coming up soon!

Miss L will be turning one in a few weeks and I had the pleasure of documenting this important milestone with a first birthday portrait session. She was bright, curious, energetic, and truly adorable! I also enjoyed visiting with mom and dad and hearing a little bit of their story. They are such a kind family and I feel fortunate to have met them and photographed this special time in their lives. When I meet a sweet family like this one, I am reminded of why I love my being a family photographer. Miss L - I hope you have a very, very happy first birthday!

I absolutely love each and every image from this lifestyle newborn session! It made it so hard for me to pick just a few favorites to share on the blog. "Miss Z" and her parents were a delight to meet and photograph. Isn't she so beautiful and delicate? Their bedroom was the perfect backdrop for their session with huge windows creating the most gorgeous lighting. I even joked with them that I wanted to hold all of my future newborn sessions at their house. :-) From my experience with my son, I realize that babies are only this tiny and new for the first couple of weeks of their lives. As such, it is truly a privilege and joy to be able to document their pure sweetness during these fleeting moments. I strive to not only create stunning, timeless images but also to capture genuine moments for the families that I photograph. I'm honored that I was able to document the remarkable love that this family shares.

We are definitely in the midst of the holiday portrait season and I have a lot of previews to share. It's so fun to reconnect with my families each year and to see how much the children have grown. It's truly remarkable the difference one year can make in a little one's life; and it's a reminder of how quickly they grow up. These adorable girls grew up so much since I saw them last year at their annual portrait session. We had the most gorgeous, warm lighting during their session and I love the beautiful backlit images that we achieved from shooting during the golden hour. It's my goal to capture both posed and candid moments during each family portrait session. Most families want a posed family portrait to frame and hang on the wall and to share on their holiday cards, but I think the split-second, candid moments that I capture are what reveals the essence of each person. I'm so pleased with the results from this session and especially love the genuine moments that we documented this year.
