Introducing the Newest Addition | Santa Monica Newborn and Child Photographer

Photographing precious Miss A was delightful!  I truly enjoyed visiting with her mama and grandparents during her portrait session.  Once Miss A is a little bit older she is going to have so much fun running around after her big brother.  Seventeen months is such a busy, curious age - so I was especially pleased that we were able to grab some fun shots of her big brother.  Thank you, D Family, for warmly welcoming me into your lives and for the honor of documenting Miss A's first days at home.  It's clear that she is already so loved and adored!

I am thrilled with the resulting images from our time together, but I especially love the eye contact in the image below.  It's a rarity to get such great eye contact from a newborn baby.  Love it!

I love getting to photograph families as they grow and welcome a new baby.  I especially love photographing growing families over the years when they are so dear to my heart.  It doesn't seem like that long ago that we documented their first maternity portraits, their first newborn portrait session, and their annual family portraits.  Looking back at this family's past portrait sessions reminds me how quickly time rushes on and with the blink of an eye our babies are grown.  This notion makes me so thankful for my camera and my perspective because I can chronicle brief moments in a child's life.  I hope that this somehow helps slow down time, if only for a moment.  It was really special for me to watch Miss J become a big sister and to do it with such love and devotion.  S and B, thank you for inviting me to document Miss K during her first week of life.  I know she is already deeply loved by you both and by her big sister.  She is one lucky, beautiful, little, baby girl!

Miss L will be turning one in a few weeks and I had the pleasure of documenting this important milestone with a first birthday portrait session.  She was bright, curious, energetic, and truly adorable!  I also enjoyed visiting with mom and dad and hearing a little bit of their story.  They are such a kind family and I feel fortunate to have met them and photographed this special time in their lives.  When I meet a sweet family like this one, I am reminded of why I love my being a family photographer.  Miss L - I hope you have a very, very happy first birthday!

Family Portraits | San Marino Family and Child Photographer

We are definitely in the midst of the holiday portrait season and I have a lot of previews to share.  It's so fun to reconnect with my families each year and to see how much the children have grown.  It's truly remarkable the difference one year can make in a little one's life; and it's a reminder of how quickly they grow up.  These adorable girls grew up so much since I saw them last year at their annual portrait session.  We had the most gorgeous, warm lighting during their session and I love the beautiful backlit images that we achieved from shooting during the golden hour. It's my goal to capture both posed and candid moments during each family portrait session.  Most families want a posed family portrait to frame and hang on the wall and to share on their holiday cards, but I think the split-second, candid moments that I capture are what reveals the essence of each person.  I'm so pleased with the results from this session and especially love the genuine moments that we documented this year.

I adore this  tender moment that these sisters were sharing together. So sweet!

South Coast Botanic Garden Family Portraits | Palos Verdes Child and Family Portrait Photographer

You may remember adorable "Miss K" from her beach portrait session earlier this year.  Looking back I can't believe how much she has grown in such a short time!  We had a fun time together as I photographed her sweet family at the South Coast Botanic Garden on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.  There were so many gorgeous flowers in bloom and the weather was just like a beautiful, warm spring day.  Since all toddlers are so active and curious we generally keep these portrait sessions fun and moving to keep little ones engaged and enjoying themselves.  We walked, and ran, all over the grounds on this morning exploring all of the different gardens.  "Miss K" could not have more loving and devoted parents, which was so evident during their portrait session.  They just adore her so much!  Thank you for the pleasure of documenting this precious time for your sweet family.
