This is the first time his toes have touched the beach sand at the Pacific Ocean. Now he has touched the sand at the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. I brought my fancy DSLR camera with me to the beach - intending to document another "first" for my little one. I thought I'd snap a couple photos, but instead came home with over 200 images. He's just too cute and I can't help myself from over-documenting him. Hope you enjoy a little glimpse from our family time together.
Awaiting a Sweet Baby Girl | Pasadena Maternity Photographer
I could not be more excited for my older brother and sister in law to become parents! We took their maternity portraits where they exchanged their wedding vows over five years ago at Vista Del Sol d'Oro. I absolutely loved their sentimental and creative idea to recreate some their favorite wedding portraits as they anticipate the arrival of their daughter. It's a rare thing to see a relationship where each person truly compliments and completes the other person; but this is what I see in my brother and sister in law's marriage. I truly could not have asked for a better wife for my brother or a better mother for my niece. I love them both more than words can express - and I am certain that I will adore my niece just as much!
I know you will be incredibly loving parents and I am thrilled to share this journey together.
I'm glad that I got to sneak into a girls' picture with my sister and niece. Thanks to my brother for capturing this shot for me. :-)
Welcoming a Little Brother | Palos Verdes Estates Newborn Photographer
I absolutely love it when clients become friends, which is what happened with this family. I met Maggie and Raphael three years ago after the birth of their first baby, Katelyn. We enjoyed chatting as I photographed baby Katelyn. We discovered that Raphael is also a clinical neuropsychologist, which is exactly the field that Brandon is working in now. I have photographed Maggie's family several other times over the years, but this most recent session was extremely special as we welcomed a new baby, their son Jonathan. I thought it would be fun to share a few newborn photos from Katelyn's session 3 years ago to see how similar the babies look. Maggie and Raphael, thank you for your years of friendship and I look forward to many more to come. Without any further ado, please join me in welcoming adorable Jonathan Matthew! I may be especially partial to his cuteness because of his red hair!
So much can change in just 3 years! On the left with Katelyn they just became parents and on the right their family has grown from three to four!
Katelyn (top photo) and Jonathan (bottom photo) look like twins separated by three years. Both so precious!
With an October birthday three years ago, we decided to take a few photos of Katelyn as a little pumpkin. Maggie didn't want to leave Jonathan out of the fun, so he got to be an autumn apple.
I also love images of newborns with their eyes open, taking in the new world around them.
Look at how grown up big sister Katelyn is - and she is just an angel, too!
Gorgeous family of four!
Sweet little Jonathan was as happy as could be in mommy and daddy's arms!
Congratulations, friends! You were already such loving parents and now you have one more little one to love. Thrilled for your newest addition and growing family!
A Little Something Sweet | Los Angeles Baby Photographer
In the midst of this crazy-busy-season of family holiday portraits it's been good for me to stop and steal a few snuggles and smiles from my little guy. He helps me to slow down and live in the present moment. Gosh, I love him SO much! Here are a few images I took on his 7 month birthday a week ago. He just cut 6 teeth (yikes!) so he is sticking his tongue out all the time to feel his new teeth in his mouth. It's too cute! We snapped these photos on my unmade bed and I will let you in on a secret. What you don't see are the piles of dirty laundry on the floor, the dust building up on the bedside tables, stacks of unopened mail, and the boxes that we STILL need to unpack from our move. I would rather enjoy these fleeting moments with Caleb than clean my place. These images show that you don't need a pretty backdrop to stop and take a few photos of the ones you love and to be present in the moment.
In addition to sticking out his tongue, his other favorite thing to do right now is BOUNCE! He is so active and loves his bouncer... but he still wants to stick his tongue out there, too. What a funny guy!
Savoring Fall at the Pumpkin Patch
Fall is my favorite time of year! We get a change in the seasons and weather, we can pull out the sweaters and Ugg boots (yay!), drink seasonal hot coffee drinks, look forward to being with family and friends at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, and Fall is when I celebrate my birthday. Now that my baby boy is having new experiences every day it makes me see little things, like a trip to the pumpkin patch, with a new perspective and with a little more excitement and awe. He is 6 months old now and sitting up like a champ. When I plopped him down on the hay covered ground, I didn't expect the straw to go right into his mouth... but of course it did since that's how he's learning about the world around him right now. The straw was a big hit for him, but so were the new animals. We got to pet some sheep, goats, and even a lama. He was very wide-eyed through the whole experience. I love seeing him play with his daddy; and Brandon is the best daddy that there is.
Walking to our car together, my baby snuggled up in his daddy's arms and my hand holding my husband's, my heart was full and I felt content. I am truly grateful for my family and sharing all of our "firsts" together as a family.
